Round 14 Team News: Marshall-King returns for Bulldogs against the Dragons

bulldogs.com.au Tue 8 Jun 2021, 03:56 PM

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs will welcome back hooker Jeremy Marshall-King for their Queen's Birthday match against the Dragons at Stadium Australia on Monday (4:00PM AEST).

Marshall-King has been missing with a foot ligament injury picked up against the Broncos at the end of March. The hooking stocks will also see Sione Katoa return to the bench after missing a game through suspension.

The changes have resulted in Brad Deitz and Jackson Topine dropping out of the overall squad.

Our side is complete and utter arse.

Meanwhile this is the Mounties team named to play at 1:40PM beforehand on Foxtel.

So our Mounties side likely would beat our main side.

the club has really struggled to develop gun first graders for years now.. I reckon guys like Atoni for example would be thriving in a better system

Just watched latest injury report.

Lewis back this week (via Mounties), and Allan due back next week. Okunbor and RFM (keep forgetting about him) due back Round 17 or 18.

I really hope we don't completely screw up Alan's career.. I know he was probably made to look better than he is at Souths, but there is still a good footballer there if we can get him better opportunities

so we're equal for and against with Broncos, but they've got a bye in hand.. I really like the teams chances of getting a few wins during the run home if they play like that.. the difference between that win and the Sharks win is that the Sharks were the better team for most of the match and probably should have won, where as this win is something they can really build on

Yep.. this win was probably our best of the year, because it wasn't the Dragons being shocking, but rather us outplaying them.

Plenty to like and build from, and it all revolved around JMKs return.

Maybe there is a much better player in there, he just needs decent players around him. Of course if JMK fires, he takes pressure off halves and allows them to be more creative.

Keep in mind we came up short on 2 VERY close tries yesterday too.

If we were deeper in attack yesterday, even more points were on offer.

JMK definitely tightens up the middle.. they just roll right through us when Katoa is there and he also gives away set restarts.. if Jeremy can have more consistent good games with the ball we will be so much better for it

Burton will change the dynamics for the better, given that he is a constant threat and that will allow Jake a bit more freedom if he is to partner him.

Scary thought for other teams. With defence having to concentrate more on what Burtons doing too, it frees up our second rowers and centres to be a bit more damaging too.

Yeah that's right.. Averillo has done a good job given that he's basically the focus of all our attack, given that the little bit experienced Kyle struggled, along with all the other's who've tried.. but yeah, you're never going to win a lot of games until you've got multiple genuine threats.
