Australia will play India for the ICC World Cup trophy after beating South Africa by three wickets in a semi-final thriller.

After restricting the South Africans to 212, Australia managed to chase the total down with three wickets and 16 balls to spare in a tense atmosphere inside Eden Gardens.

Pat Cummins hit the winning runs with a four through backward point, as Australia attempts to win its sixth ODI World Cup.

"What a game of cricket," former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting said on commentary.

"... Australia have stood tall under extreme pressure put on them by a very good and valiant South Africa team.

"The Australians have got out of jail, they've done just enough to win their way through to another final and take on India.

"... Captain Calm (Cummins) has done it again, under all sorts of pressure, extreme pressure, he's managed to drag his team across the line."

Australia started the game on fire, with South Africa 4-24 after they won the toss and elected to bat.

A rain delay helped the Proteas, with Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller combining for a 95-run partnership.

Travis Head then ripped through to remove Klaasen and Marco Jansen in two consecutive balls before Miller pushed ahead to make a century.

Miller's 101 helped push South Africa to 212 with Australia bowling them out in 49.4 overs.

Australia's run chase was off to a fast start with an opening stand of 60, however a mini collapse made it 2-61 when David Warner and Marsh departed.

Head made 62 before he was gone at 3-106.

Australia continued to grind through the middle order but at 6-174 there were concerns in the dressing room with Marnus Labuschagne, Glenn Maxwell and Steve Smith all out.

Wicket-keeper Josh Inglis (28) stabilised the innings but he too departed at 7-193 after a fiery spell from Gerald Coetzee.

Cummins and Mitchell Starc managed to hold on as Australia now prepares to play in Ahmedabad on Sunday November 19.

Unfortunately for South Africa, the loss continues a horrible record in ODI World Cups, having not won a semi-final in five attempts.

I wonder how doctored the Final pitch will be in favour of India.
ICC is basically the cuck of BCCI, so basically anything goes due to money.

I feel that they're not as blatantly obvious as India.

fair. I know Fifa is mad corrupt, or at least there's always rumblings... hard to see anything with the money involved with that sport not being corrupt as.

One has to laugh at the result, despite fixing everything to favour the home side.
