The Bulldogs’ horror season has copped another untimely blow with former Blues and Kangaroos winger Nick Cotric ruled out for the season with a toe injury.
The Daily Telegraph reported Cotric’s first season at Belmore is over after he suffered a ruptured ligament in his big toe in an innocuous training incident.
The 22-year-old reportedly stumbled on the field during a training session earlier this week, with his big toe copping the full force of his weight on top of it.
Cotric consulted a surgeon on Wednesday and was ruled out for the rest of the Bulldogs’ 2021 campaign.
The Bulldogs medical team will rehabilitate Cotric’s injury over the next month before a date for surgery is determined.
Cotric scored three tries in 14 games in his first season at Canterbury after moving from the Raiders where he scored 46 tries in 93 games since his debut in 2017.
