The end of another season. An interesting one to say the least. I'm keen to get everyone's thoughts on our season. What the positives were, favourite memories, etc etc..

The Team
Bit an obvious one but that Burton JAC combo has been the stand out for me.. two confident players who are not afraid to chance their arm. They both have great leadership qualities as well, Burton with action, Fox with action as well as revving up the troops.

Paul Vaughn and Max King were consistent all season, sadly only one of them will remain at the club, but it was nice to get a bit of vintage Paul Vaughan even if it was for one season.

The team look happier.. even though we didn't win a heap of games, there were plenty more good moments compared to last year, and I'd argue we would have done much better had the strengths and conditioning been up to scratch.

Juniors/Debutants
Another stand out for me was Kiraz.. he played a big role in us getting a few wins.. it's awesome having a guy at the back doing the work that he does... safe under the high ball, and can bust a tackle.

Casey had a debut to forget, but showed great confidence to have a solid second outing. He could do with a bit more size but he's good depth at a minimum.

The forwards we debuted varied from "did ok", to "did pretty well". I thought Morrin in particular had a solid debut..he's a little bulldog around the ruck.

Oh and regardless of what happens next week the cup boys have had a great season!

The Club
The club continue to do great things off the field.. I wouldn't know the half if it to be honest but it all seems positive and they're putting a lot of emphasis on our juniors.

I know some of us were getting pretty frustrated with the whole coaching situation but given what we do know now, it has to be said that Gus really did handle it well.. particularly the way he handled the journos.. he truly is a quality operator.

This year was a year of ups and downs. We got (under Potter) to see glimpses of what the players are individually capable of, and there is definitely a solid platform to work from moving forwards.

Our juniors pathway seems finally to look much brighter, with the issues of Covid delays starting to disappear, and some potentially incredibly talented juniors coming through. For those that debuted, they did so well with the club and a taste of first grade gives them ambition to drive harder in the future.

From a management front it's beyond amazing to see how far we've U turned from the Anderson and Castle days in such a short space of time. Khoury and Warburton leading the club from the front and concentrating on what they do best, the Laundy family getting involved when required to touch base with talent, and then you have Gould working magic to glue everyone together.

I think theres a very bright future coming as we are getting all the right bits together.

Ciraldos staff and the Strength and Conditioning team are the next BIG call. We should possibly look at Donny Singe again from Manly. Manly have been playing 80 minutes this year, and whilst they've had some injuries (like TommyT), they aren't things he could be blamed for. Our team under Hasler and Singe at least could play 80 minute games, not 40 minutes we can now.
