you know, I continue to hear about their effort... but I just don't know if I am seeing it.. let's think about what effort really looks like... running hard, tackling hard, getting up in the face of the opposition, supporting, etc... our best support player is Tolman ffs

We are just well off the pace, and I certainly am not putting all the blame on the players.. we've just got a lot of fresh faces who have not experienced proper coaching and the club has not had a winning mentality for so many years now.. I don't think we have had proper attacking coaches something like 5 years or so, and who knows what our fitness staff do because our guys always look like the most unfit team in the competition.. Well anyway, thankfully Barrett is starting to make changes before his arrival

The reality is a simple one: We've forgotten how to win games.

In the past the Bulldogs were ruthless. We'd push on with games and hammer clubs. These days we struggle to get in front, often conceeding a few tries before we pull our fingers out. Then when we do get close or in front, we shit the bed and let the other team back in.

When RFM and Foran came off, thats when we lost impact.

We can't use our development guys, and even if we could they'd be very un-matchfit. That rules out Tyrone Harding, Tui Katoa, and Sebastian Winters-Chang (all backs). Tass who is another back is injured at the moment.

My understanding is we promoted Doorey in place of CHN (so perhaps a blessing in disguise there). Harpers place was taken by Lafai.

They say "defence is attitude" so those 2 soft as jelly trys in the first half shows we have a poor attitude.

While JMK had a good game yesterday we still desperately need a 7 and a 9. While Meaney isn't the best 1 I believe he's good enough if we have a good half distributing the ball to his backs. We need to throw the bank at a good half. Hell, take one that's still contracted to a club just like every other club seems to do to us.
