BULLDOGS SECURE BACKUP HOOKER

The Bulldogs have continued their signing spree by securing the signature of Tigers hooker Fa’amanu Brown.

The 27-year-old has signed a one-year deal according to The Mole, becoming Reed Mahoney’s back-up under Cameron Ciraldo.

Brown ressurected his career in 2022, playing 13 games for the Tigers after he last played in the NRL for the Bulldogs in 2019.

The dummy-half made his first grade debut for the Sharks in 2014, playing 24 games across three seasons before spending two years at the Bulldogs.

Brown only managed 12 games in two seasons in Belmore, but will likely be a front runner for the No.14 jersey.

Brown has also been a star for Samoa at the World Cup, but has since been ruled out of the final due to concussion.

I'm happy with this; I thought he was their main threat when we beat them. He's an upgrade on Dockar-Clay, and I say that with no disrespect to ZDC, I mean Nu Brown has played a lot more first grade.

Nu Brown covers your hooker AND halves role.

I could be wrong, but I'm sure I remember him playing fullback for the Dogs (might have been in NSW Cup), before he suffered a leg injury. Before he got injured though he was absolutely murdering it at the back, and looked incredibly sharp.

Could play a Tyrone Peachey role off the bench and be incredibly dangerous with his kicking and ball playing ability.

He played in the grand final and state championship wins but Cerutto was fullback that year.. he may have played a game or two in the one.
