The Bulldogs have added another piece to their forward pack for next season, with the signing of Brisbane Broncos utility, John Asiata, on a one-year deal.

Having made his debut for the Cowboys in 2014, Asiata, was part of their Premiership winning side in 2015, going on to play 128 matches for the club before joining the Broncos last season.

The 28 year-old has represented both Tonga and Samoa at International level, and has shown a versatility in his game that can see him cover a number of positions.

He is also renowned for the charity work he does off the field, having twice been the recipient of the Cowboys' Clubman of the Year Award.

Bulldogs Chief Executive, Aaron Warburton, believes that Asiata will be a tremendous addition to the club's forward pack for next season:

"By signing someone of John's experience and versatility for next season, we believe that we have found a player who will be a great addition to our club.

With forwards such as Tevita Pangai Junior, Paul Vaughan and Josh Cook joining us, plus retaining a strong nucleus from our current squad, we think that John will bring a level of skill and leadership that will greatly complement that group.

John, is also extremely active in regards to his work in the community, and that is something that was extremely important to us.

We are really excited about the squad that we have assembled and can't wait to see them together for pre-season."

not how, but when... his only issue is injuries, but he's talented and can cover multiple positions, and he's consistent when he does play... in my opinion it's better for us than him because if he gets injured we just don't re-sign him, but if he doesn't, we've got a handy addition to the pack.

139 career games, and only 5 tries. Not a great strike rate, BUT he used to play well as lock.

has had good involvement in plenty of tries though and was really good replacing Thurston the year Cowboys last made the GF

Brings experience and versatility to play in multiple positions.
Maybe our training and conditioning regime will suit his physique better and his body is more reliable for us.

umm what training and conditioning? all this season pretty much we ran out of steam in the second half so obviously they are not suited to the fast type of speed RL is built around these days
Foran was always so so and always getting injured when he was with us . take a look at him now scoring tries backing up and hardly ever gets injured anymore so wonders what the magic pill is at Manly.

Not even a toe injury will stop old Foz these days
Yes Howard amazing that guy took $1 million a year off us for 3 years and prolly only played 1/3rd of total games and we offer him a reduced price for the next few years and he walks for bigger money again at Manly . Gave us nothing in 3 years if it was fraud you would be jailed for it .
