Pangai’s pain
Tevita Pangai jnr has shown enormous courage to open up about the deeply personal reason he had to leave the bubble and rush to be with his partner in Brisbane. In an emotional post on his partner’s social media, he talked about losing his baby 24 weeks into the pregnancy, expressing sympathy for those who have been through a similar situation. Pangai found out when he was with teammates on the Sunshine Coast and went into shock.
“My baby girl, Georgia Lose Galilee Pangai. My first creation,” he wrote. “I’m going to miss your mum telling me how you kick every morning and always fidgety and couldn’t stay still like me ... Be with mum always, and me, my little baby girl, my love.“
This column extends deep sympathies to Tevita, his partner and their families.
