Look, I know we have had a tough run this past few weeks, but the team hardly looks like it is improving. On the other hand, look at the Sharks.. sure they have a better lineup but look how well they just clicked into gear under the new coach.

The club has got to make a decision on the coach's future for mine, because when you've got a Shane Flanagan waiting in the wings you can't just continue to wait and hope for things to change when the team is struggling on both sides of the ball.

Not sure what the team is doing at training but fuck me we are not playing to our strengths.

Yep. I mean at least when Tigers get their first win it's actually a good performance, where as any win we're gonna have this season is probably going to be ugly. I dunno, maybe it will click but geez it's looking grim atm.

I don't think a new coach would make a difference at the moment.

I'd say its all about gelling as a side.

You can't win games changing the halves pairing every week and with Flanno in halves we have looked a lot better.

thing is but players have gone backwards under Barrett and also rookies haven't improved.. I also question if he knows how to use players like Thompson for example who is playing well but could be much better.

Sure we've added players to the team but there's still a fair amount of players there who have been together for a while and are still struggling, particularly in defence.. I always listen to Shane Flanagan's commentary and he can see so many of our problems yet Baz cannot.

I see where you are coming from, just not sure that another coach is the answer.

Lets not forget Flannos success was off a team pumped up on peptides.

a lot of ex players and commentators can see our problems but Barrett is not accepting of anything by the sounds of it .

Read my comments in the Bark box because they show better with stats over 3 seasons in the first 7 games of each year

Warriors get 70 put on them and yet their 'against' is still only half of what ours is

Looks like Gould is getting his hands dirty. This can only be a good thing.

After going so far backwards post win, do any of you see much improvement in our future? I mean, of course Mahoney and Kikau will help, but for me it's going to be a very long time before we can match it with the top sides because the discipline is really poor.

our only chance is to get a hard nosed coach who will say it like it is not pussyfoot around the issues each week making excuses for himself and the team. lets face it we are done and shot this year anyway yet again. nothing so far has shown me or anyone else yet of any improvement in this team apart from the expected efforts of JAC and Burton who are true professionals that never stop trying to the end . The rest are a mish mash of could be's might be's or maybe looking for big dollars without any effort . Look at cotric for example comes here with good expectations plays a couple of good games then goes downhill and i make allowances for injuries, so we send him back to the raiders this year and he has played better again than in any games he had with the dogs. Same old story time and time again and who is the common denominator in all this none other than Barrett. If we are not careful Burton and JAC are going to get burnt out too trying to do everything for a team that is obviously not united .

I know I keep harping on about it but if we don't get our discipline in check we're always going to be defending and like you say, our good players will get burnt out.. It was really sad to see after a win that we spent the first 20 minutes of the game on the weekend defending due to simple mistakes, and where we're at right now we were never going to peg them back. Every other bottom team bar the Titans have shown some improvement.. We might be lacking in talent but you can still train a team to get the simple things right.

I don’t think any coach would make a difference. It’s a mental thing. Which I think was on display when Gus put a rocket up them.
Remember the cowboys were shit and hired Todd Payten, if we’d have hired Payten dogs fans would’ve lost their minds, but look at them now. A bit of confidence goes a long way.
When you get to this level, everyone can play. It’s more mental than anything else.

Totally agree.

Cowboys started stringing together wins and it's all the confidence they needed to get back on track.

Similar to Sharks as well. They are firing at the moment too.

Funny thing is those clubs down bottom of comp all seem to have similar issues (Tigers, Knights, Bulldogs). Titans on the other hand are just inconsistent.

Round 11 next week and Cowboys will play their first game against a top team bar Parra in a million degree heat... Not that it would make a difference for us but it seems a bit unfair that we played all the top teams within the first few rounds.
