The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have continued their re-build for next season with the signing of Paul Vaughan on a one-year deal.

The 30 year-old forward, brings with him extensive experience having played 181 NRL matches for the Canberra Raiders and St George, after debuting in 2013.

Vaughan, also represented Australia in two Test Matches in 2019, in addition to six appearances for New South Wales between 2018-19.

Bulldogs Head Coach, Trent Barrett, was excited about what Vaughan could bring to the club next season:

"Paul is someone who will bring both ability and experience to our young pack for next season.

Everyone knows what a damaging ball-runner he is and the impact that he can have on a game and we believe that we will be able to harness that moving forward.
I know that Paul is excited about the opportunity to come and join us and we believe that he still has a great deal to offer in the game.

We look forward to seeing Paul run out in the blue and white next year and welcome him and his family to the club.

So, what does this mean for his suspension? Have we signed him from now, so he can serve his suspension this year? Or does he have to serve it next year?

Apparently the NRL will allow him to play from round 1, which I think is fair because Dragqueens didn't sack him for the BBQ, they used that as an excuse as they were already trying to get his contract off their books

I think that's fair. So from Nov he can train with the club, but he won't play until Round 1.

very fair.. and nobody is going to argue that the Dragons were looking to move him on, given that they were ok with re-signing De-Belin.. I'm not gonna get into all that, but that's just facts... Paul did some stupid shit but all and all he seems like a decent guy

What’s the reason for the one year deal? is it cause he came real cheap then if he plays well gets an upgrade under his new contract?

I think that, but also we can piss him off if he messes up... I don't see him as a risk at all tbh as I can't recall him being in trouble outside of Covid
