The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have been forced into a number of changes for their Round 16 clash with the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles at Bankwest Stadium on Saturday (3:00PM AEST).

With Dylan Napa, Brandon Wakeham, Aaron Schoupp, Corey Waddell and Sione Katoa all unavailable due to a 14 day Government Isolation Period after testing negative for COVID, three players will make their NRL debut.

24 year-old Falakiko Manu will start in the centres after some strong performances for Mounties this season. He was previously in the Bulldogs Pathways program over recent years and is a current train and trial player.
19 year-old Bailey Biondi Odo, who joined the club as a train and trial player at the end of the 2019 season, and can play hooker or half, will fill the utility role. He previously represented the Bulldogs at the 2020 Nines in Perth.
19 year-old forward Chris Patolo, who is a local junior from the Bankstown Sports club, will also come off the bench. He is currently a contracted Development player.
  • Corey Allen return to the side after overcoming a shoulder injury
  • Kyle Flanagan moving back into the starting halves
  • Jackson Topine return in the second row
  • Joe Stimson return to the bench
*Adam Elliott (fractured cheekbone), Chris Smith (ankle sprain) and Nick Cotric (turf toe injury from training) were all considered unavailable due to injury

Surely Okunbor and RFM can't be far off.

Kiko Manu used to play for the Dogs a few years back, not a bad player, but shows how short we are on backline players.
Patolo should give us some decent yardage, which BBO will be interested to see where he fits in (hooker maybe?)

A good chance to see some possible better options than the usual, but my goodness I'm scared of what Tommy T is going to do to us

Tommy had an injury concern during SOO.

Manly would be smart to rest him and DCE. They are currently sitting in 6th spot on the ladder (and 3 wins away from 4th spot / 6 points). A win will only have then 5th (if the Roosters lose to Storm tomorrow), and a loss won't impact them at all (as they are 2 wins clear of 7th spot).

However if they run the gamble simply to beat us, and lose DCE/TommyT in the process, then their season could be done and dusted right there.

I'd rest DCE and Tommy T. Move Walker (or BennyT) to fullback, and Cade Cust into the halves alongside Foran. Then add Suli and another to the bench.

That way they still have a good chance to win, without an injury concern.

There's a bit of hype around Biondi-Odo, I can't say I've seen much of him

I'd say he's there for if Flanno chokes again.

He's been a standout in lower grades, but still very young. Good open space runner and organiser. I think he'll suprise some people.
