I know we lost but it was a much improved performance from the side, the attack was better and we would have had a definite two more tries if it weren't for Staggs making the two best tackles of his career, and possibly one at the end minus a great effort from Albert Kelly. Honestly I've gotta give a big wrap to Brisbane they have improved massively and I personally thought the hype for them this season was nonsense.

They said it could take up to 6 weeks for our attack to really click and I think with Burton's skill and effort level along with Fox essentially running the show it will click sooner.

Anyway..

My 3 goes to Waddell - We all know this bloke cops a lot of hate and obviously last year wasn't his best season but yesterday he was absolute beast mode on both sides of the ball, coming up with some great saves.
2 to Burton - While we only managed two tries he looked dangerous with almost every carry and his boot will give their backs, particularly Niu nightmares. He was outstanding in D too making a lot of cover defence that saved breaks being made.
3 to Foxx - Great leadership and enthusiasm.. took a lot of the tough carries out of our own end.. He really is the spark this side needed and once either Naden finds a right to left pass, or they put somebody there who has one already, we'll see the best of him.

Honerable mentions to JMK who I thought had just about his best game... the bloke always turns up in D but yesterday looked much more threatening than usual, and even ended up with a nice barge over try himself. Max King who is looking like the bargain buy of the season.. solid once again on both sides of the ball.. you feel so much better watching the team knowing the replacements won't kill any momentum. TPJ as a lot of people will focus on the negatives and to be fair there was only one moderately bad one early in the game but 150 meters, 7 offloads.. once the team learn how to utilise those offloads to our advantage they will cause a few headaches.

3 - Burton: (gees he looked dangerous in attack AND defence), and scary this is only his second game in NRL for us in that position. How good is his handling too! Just need his halves partner sorted and then watch out!.
2 - Waddell: What a revelation. I was scratching my head with him at prop but turned into a masterstroke that kept Adam Reynolds shut out of the game. Wonder if perhaps he should shift to lock and allow him to play both sides of the field. Best game I've seen from him.
1 - JMK: Credit where due he's starting to show the potential he's always had. With Mahoney coming next year and playing 80, he has to I guess.

Burns, King, Dufty all looking really good too. Finally our attack is looking more dangerous when on an oppositions try line.

Not a bad idea re Waddell as he does possess a bit of a skill set when you think back to his days at Penrith. If that can be the bar for JMK he might be able to secure a position somewhere else in the team for next season unless Trent goes with a JMK Mahoney rotation.
