Not expecting a win on this one, but it is a good litmus test of exactly where we are at.

On a dry field I'll be really interested to see how we can go versus a top tier team like the Cowboys.

We played well but that double movement try killed us. The positive is that the only thing letting us down is fitness, but we identified that problem and got rid of it.

Yeah I foolishly watched on 30 minute delay but checked score when we were 10-0 up.

They had another try disallowed though which I thought was a bit iffy, so kinda levels out really. Not to mention bloody Stimson dropping the ball cold with the line wide open.

Cowboys are a top side and I wasn't expecting a win, and we certainly took it to them. Certainly didn't play like a team stuck at 12th on the ladder.

Warriors in NZ next week, and then Eels, Sharks and Manly to end the season (shit thats gone fast).

All games we have the potential to win if we play like today I reckon.

Sharks will be without Kennedy, and Manly might be without Foran.

I missed the first half as I was walking to the pub for sister in law's 30th.. Once that double movement try was awarded we were never gonna have the legs to get the job done unfortunately, but it's still very good signs going into pre-season.

We're playing much better footy than the Warriors but they have the home ground advantage.. I feel like we'll get a comfortable win though.

Manly fade off in the last 20 a bit like we do, but I feel like we can score enough points against them up till that point to get the win.

Unfortunately unless we amass big points before half time we tend to bleed tries after half time and that comes about because of our fitness to defend at the latter parts of many games. Undoubtedly a situation that needs to be addressed before the start of next season. The league ladder is split into 3 distinct areas now. The teams with potential to go on and win the comp, the also rans that couldnt quite make the grade and the bottom 5 whom have performed indifferently during the comp which includes us.When you look at last years ladder positions three teams stand out this year . The cowboys the sharks and the broncos. Somehow we never managed to rise much compared to last year. So where did we go wrong compared to the other three that improved dramatically?

Anyone else want to ask questions?
"Okay I'll ask a question"

hahahaha talk about a quick presser.

I actually thought Jackson had a pretty good game today. Seems that Thompson might be back next week or week after!

I suppose the thing about those other teams, is that with the Sharks for example they had a good team already but just didn't have consistency last year.. Broncos had all the gun juniors and now that they've been together, they're firing.. Our biggest problem in my opinion was our draw.. I mean it was one thing to have a new look team, but it was hard for us to get into a groove since we played a lot of the early season games on the back foot.. but like you say our strength and conditioning is an issue and thankfully it hasn't gone unnoticed to the people that matter, and I suspect there will be a big turn around next season.

Jackson has been good the last few weeks. Thompson will be excited to play I bet, as last time he played it was in a team constantly on the back foot.

I hate how opposition fans always carry on when their player beats JAC to the ball.. Josh always slows down once he knows he a: is in the clear, or b: knows he won't get to the ball or needs to make another decision. At the end of the day, he uses his speed better than any other player in the comp, and is still the best winger in the NRL, so even if there are faster players it counts for little.

Most players though have an advantage of being closer to the ball than when JAC takes flight. That's what people forget.

In that instance Tabui-Fidow is already bloody quick, and when he's turning and chasing after JAC, he is already like 10m closer to the ball at the time.

yeah, over distance it rarely matters because generally it all comes down to who gets the head start.. quick acceleration is what you want because that's where you can beat players be it off a grubber, or a kick in behind player.. Josh has all the other wingers covered in that department.

Yep his acceleration off the mark is phenomenal.

Most of the other fast guys in the NRL are quick because they are really tall with long legs (hence a really long stride to cover ground).

JAC and Tabui Fidow are fairly short comparatively I think.
