Like last week the effort was good and Manly regardless of form is a team who has run rings around us in previous seasons. It's hard to look past our clunky attack at times but the team has gotten a lot better in other areas.. the fact that they are leaking very few points and the fact Turbo Tom didn't lay one blow on us bar the try that was set up for him is a huge step in the right direction.

my 3 goes to Paul Vaughan.. very solid up the middle and made good meters.
JAC for 2.. didn't get the opportunities in attack but was good in other areas particularly defence.
Wakeham for 1.. I thought the team looked more fluent before he went to the blood bin and he was an absolute menace in defence on that edge.. that's one area I have always been impressed with in his game and given his size.

I'm giving a special mention to Burnes and Schoup.. maybe not the best performers on the day but I was impressed with how they fixed their defence on the run because at one stage it looked like Manly were going to tear us to shreds on that edge. Burnes might have made a bad error but it was our attack that let us down unfortunately but it will come; bar that error I am liking his effort on both sides of the ball.

Can't really comment as I only watched highlights.

Even though we aren't winning games, we are keeping them close and low scoring, which in itself might be important at end of the year.

Close games indicate wins are never too far away.

That's it. The attack was never going to click right away but they are creating half chances and winning more field position.. just a matter of time.

Our position upon the D v A lists is a start.
The D has improved.
Now to get penetration with our A and we will see more favourable results.

Once our attack starts to click, that's when other sides should start to get rather worried.

Defence is harder to resolve than attack.

I just worry it's gonna be more of the same if nobody steps up in the halves.. Averillo hasn't improved and it looks the same way for Wakeham. JMK was good against the Broncos but otherwise has been the same as last year. If teams know they just have to stop Burton it's a fairly easy job for them.

Really want to see Cook or BBO in lieu of JMK.
Wakeham looked ok for the time he had before HIA against womanly.
If he fails, we've Flanno to try and BBO is a genuine half as well and looks the goods.
Arvellio is, was and should always be a centre, it is the position he grew up playing.

*looks at todays team list changes*

TBaz heard you :D

bit rough on Schoupp who I thought held his own last week but I suppose his downfall is not offering a huge amount with ball in hand.. dare say we will see him again at some stage though. Jake is lucky Tbaz likes him as playing in the halves could have ruined him.. I think being back in his natural position will be good for him and he can play without the pressure of being expected to play a role that's not natural to him.

I'm the assistant coach now, bitches! (only assistant thus JMK and not BBO/Cook)
If we continue like this, we will have players in their right positions by seasons end and be competitive next year.
