Round 6 Team News: Side Confirmed for Good Friday Clash

AuthorCaitlin GlanvilleMedia & Communications ManagerTimestampTue 4 Apr 2023, 03:41 PM

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs return to the field to host the South Sydney Rabbitohs at Accor Stadium on Friday 4 April, kicking off at 4:00PM AEST in Round 6 of the 2023 NRL Premiership.
After clinching a golden-point win in Round 5 over the Cowboys, the Bulldogs will look to continue on with their best start to a season since 2016, when they line up against the Bunnies in the annual Good Friday clash.

A series of injuries will see some of the Club's young talent step up to take on the opportunity of a lifetime and hunt down some tries.
NSW Cup star feature and prop, Harrison Edwards has been named to make his 2023 NRL start and will be looking to follow on in rookie Paul Alamoti and Jacob Preston's footsteps to make his mark this season.
Kurtis Morrin and Josh 'Grub' Reynolds will also run with the pack again on Friday afternoon, while Club Captain Ray Faitala-Mariner and Viliame Kikau remain sidelined due to concussion protocols.
Fan favourite Jackson Topine has also been named to make his start from the bench.
Coinciding with the Easter Show, Sydney Olympic Park is set to be transformed for a day full of family-fun activity. Be sure to get along early, join us for the Good Friday clash and help us flood Accor Stadium with Blue and White.
Secure your seats now to one of Rugby League’s most heated rivalries. All tickets include free public transport to and from Accor Stadium (trains and buses).

I totally thought I'd posted this already, then I remembered I've been a little busy of late LOL.

Some good press interviews this week. Ciraldo states TPJ will be back next week (for the Parra game). Parra ripe for the taking at the moment.

Also love how JAC talks about the club and says he's just so happy at the club at the moment. Laughed at the question by a reporter "Are you more jacked up than in previous years?" hahaha

JAC certainly does look bigger in the arms and chest. Must be hitting the gym hard.

Well that was a hot mess of a game (not to mention penalties and set restarts galore, and a farcial sin bin for Preston).

But the offshoot of having such a shit game this week, is you probably don't want to be Parramatta next week.

Already down on form, and Dogs have RFM, Kikau, TPJ, Okunbor coming back, plus possibly a Skelton debut (for Fox). Add to that Burton having a shitter of a game for the most, which lead to a 12 point deficit effectively (bombing a try to level, and then conceding one). Add to that Perham against his old club as well as Mahoney.

If Dogs turn up, they could put a score on Parra.

I thought we actually looked really good early on, I thought Harrison Edwards was much improved as a first grader. Once JAC went down and the penalties began to flow, combine with the short turn around/injuries it all caught up with them. It sucks that it blew out so badly but it really was out of their control.

I don't want to get all PC, but if you grab a chic on the crotch, you end up in a cell. I'm not saying it should be the same for men, but how does grub Burgess not even get charged for his shenanigans yesterday?

Sutton as Good Friday Ref?
What else can you expect yet a vintage performance from mid-teens, to ensure every time we started to gain momentum, he took it away with bullshit calls.
I no longer expect us to win Good Friday matches, yet FFS, rorting 50 points against us for his favoured side? Fuck me @NRL investigate the grub.

It's going to be hard for us to break into the 8 because momentum is everything, and when the calls go against you, you lose momentum, where was your Souths, Melbourne etc always get those calls. Gerard can eat a dick

I turned off at half time as I had a bit to do still outside.

We never looked like winning when we lost JAC and were getting penalised and set restarts galore against us.
