Kyle Flanagan
Canterbury have recruited well for Trent Barrett's first season as coach - with Corey Allan and Nick Cotric being top-tier backline additions - but no signing is more important than halfback Kyle Flanagan. The 22-year-old is tasked with taking charge of a success-starved team which now has the cattle to move up the ladder. He's got something to prove after being moved on by the Roosters after just one season.

Others: Nick Cotric (Raiders), Corey Allan (Rabbitohs), Corey Waddell (Sea Eagles), Jack Hetherington (Panthers)

so pumped about our signings man not just the player but also think we've recruited the type of personalities who will really put in for each other and the jersey... I'm excited about Hetherington, and I also think that Waddell will get back on course to where he was headed in 2019

Looking very promising in every facet so far. Can't wait but probably have to temper my hopes as regards wins at the beginning of the comp. Tough draw first 6 weeks.

Be great anyway knowing we are building.

Definitely.. very well might not click right away.. if it does it does, but if it not, I'm sure it will not take long.. hopefully we get a miracle and Penrith release Burton in the coming weeks

From looking at the Top 30, and Barretts recent Q&A thread, sounds like the answer is a firm no there from Penrith.

I think a lot of our success won't just be from how WE play, but how other teams handle change.

Roosters have a huge "?" on Sam Walker (their rookie half).
Storm have a huge "?" on life after Cam Smith.
Panthers have been heavily changed with player losses.
Souths have potential problems in their backline off field with headspace.

Very interesting season ahead.

Don't you think Roosters will use Adam Keighran?

I'm not sold on Harry Grant as far as the way he is being talked up as basically the new Smith.. his best outing have been against us, and against a NSW pack who were out on their feat/ playing their third consecutive Origin.. Not saying he isn't going to be a weapon, but I mean even the Ninths slid down the ladder with him in their team so he's still got to improve

Panthers are an interesting one.. they lose a lot of leadership with Tamou and to a lesser extent, Tetevano.. Baz is an even bigger loss since they weren't able to bring in anybody of quality to replace him

I think Souths will begin their slide down the ladder.. despite not winning anything, they've been up for a few years now.. I also think Allan played a big role in what they did at the back of the season, on both sides of the footy.. I also think that that Sironen was one of their best performers in 2020

I think we will win a lot more games against bottom 8 teams, while taking the odd big scalp along the way.
