A lot of people are getting excited over this news but I just hope we don't throw big money offers his way to play hooker, as he is still unproven as far as being a top 9 in the comp goes and his last outing in the position was a night to forget

Don't know, haven't seen enough of him at 9 in the NRL.. from what I have seen I just think he's better off where Storm play him as he is not overly skilled

I can’t comment as I don’t know anything about Brandon.
In saying that why are the storm letting him go if his good?

My point exactly if he was that good storm won’t let him go.

Yeah,

They're not going to get worse by losing him, and he's not going to make a rival much better as a 9 (imo). There are better hooker options in the Super League

I think the storm want it all their way releasing players early on the basis they get a player swap from another team of similar ability or more. just look as us giving them Smith and what did we get in return SFA

Be interesting to see how he goes next year and if he develops into a decent player, or just fades away (assuming he plays NRL that is).

Storm are pretty unforgiving to players that underperform or don't give 100%.

I understand where people are coming from in re to his attitude, and I've been critical myself.. but it must be so frustrating as a player when your spine men can't even get the ball to you without f*cking up.. I think he's going to be a real weapon for the Storm and I just hope we get something out of it, otherwise we're just helping them out for nothing

you would have thought had there been discussion we would have heard about it by now

The only thing I can think of is that they've sorted something out with JAC which needs to be kept on the dl due to his h o a with Wests.

Only thing is Howard, that the heads of agreement expires at the end of 2021 season so after that Wests have no legal recourse. If we swapped Smith for next season for JAC he couldnt come because of the HOA. So why not wait to swap Smith for 2022 season then if this is the case.

the whole thing was strange but it was interesting that the day we heard Smith was leaving was the day Wests received their JAC news.. now Storm are playing hard ball with Brandon for 2021 which makes us look more like a little bitch that we're just handing players over while they're demanding a trade for anybody they potentially release

Apparently it's obvious there are no rules prohibiting a club for asking for a swap getting the guy they want then reneging on coughing up their swap player. Another exploitation by the Storm. Wonders how they are going to handle 6 again if they are still wrestling with the opposition player when the ref has called play the ball or release. They have been getting away with that one for years so they can set their defence.

I just wish our club would have some balls with that sort of thing.. giving up Klem for nothing in return to a lesser club was a sad time for Dogs fans

I could never understand why we used to play two games home and away in NZ and get beaten every time on their home ground advantage. it may be promoting NRL in Kiwiland but its not helping our home grown supporters one iota
