Daniel Ricciardo secured yet another epic 2020 podium for Renault at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix on the weekend but a number of pundits believe he may now be left with a “strange” feeling on his pre-season gamble to switch to McLaren.

I don't think it will. Renault had a really slow start to the season and still suffer on some tracks.

one has to remember that Ricciardo's podium places were won on crashes and mixups by other teams not necessary on the ability of the Renault. With McLaren he will be switching to a mercedes engine next year.. Any wins he has next year will be on the cars engine and the ability of the driver. Hopefully his ability and the engine will bring him much better results than Renault relying on defaults by other teams.
