GAME DAY: SAT 1ST MAY @ 5:30PM on Foxtel

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs will take an unchanged line-up into Saturday's grudge match against the Parramatta Eels at Stadium Australia (5:30PM).

Coming off the back of their first win of the season against the Sharks, Coach Trent Barrett has been able to name Chris Smith, Matt Doorey and Brad Deitz, all of whom left the field during last Saturday's hard-fought win.

Brandon Wakeham, who made history last round by becoming the first-ever 18th man substitute to take the field during an NRL match, has been named on an extended bench, alongside Dallin Watene-Zelezniak who is touch and go to recover from a leg infection that was treated in hospital last week.

Happy with Trent sticking with the same team from the weekend.. just hoping to see a similar level of competitiveness

Same here, good test for Napa to prove last week wasn't a one off. We will need to be on our toes for this one as Parra have strike power across the field.

Not confident, but as long as the effort is there and we at least try to compete.

One thing I hate, is to lose to Parra. That’s a certainty here 😭😭
not looking good but we need to prove that last week wasn't just a one off and that we can cause an upset on "expected to win" teams . betting agencies wouldn't have liked us beating the sharks.

Luke Thompson is the key for us right now, as far as inspiration goes.. he leads the way and it appears the other players want to go with him... it's no surprise that many of our players have had their best games since his return.. it's not going to be easy for Parra

Remember we beat Sharks last week missing 2 guys on our bench (forwards) as well.
true we did too,
What's pissing me off is we let Reimis Smith go too easily to Melbourne and look at him now scoring two tonight against the sharks 5 tries for the season because he has support all over the field unlike with us.

DWZ passed injury and is straight into the backline replacing Tui Katoa at wing. I don't that at all, and it's probably the best backline we currently have (give or take Averillo and Okunbor).

Meaney keeps fullback spot (deservably).

In fairness look at the players in and outside him though. The Roosters or Storm would make Michael Lichaa look like a superstar.

I feel like Reimis is bad for morale.. he's good for Melb because they can give him plenty of opportunities.. we need guys who are willing to work to get to where we want to be.. I was pissed at first, but us signing JAC makes up for it

Well Lichaa did make the headlines a few months back along with his fiancee and a certain front row forward from the dogs so maybe he did get his name up in lights for all the wrong reasons.

  • Parra 1-17 with Matterson and Kaufusi starting and Paulo and Lane moving to bench.
  • Dogs 1-17 except DWZ replaces Katoa on wing.

Best get rid of the grubs like him.
Hope he destroys Victoria from the inside.

I actually feel for Baz.. you can see the drive and the effort he puts in but he's just stuck with guys who don't have it in them to be first grade footballers... Hopefully he can snag a few more signings before next season so we can start fresh

Problems are:

- Not hitting the advantage line in offense
- No hard drive in the legs
- Passes going behind the player instead of being in front to keep momentum going
- Weak passes, no bullets
- Slow play the balls

And that’s just attack. Don’t get me started on defense

Sleeky you hit the nail on the head all bar the broncos we have the worst defence in the comp and to think that the Panthers have had less points scored against them than we have scored in 8 rounds no idea in attack and bloody useless in defence. I agree with Barrett at his press conference Parra men are big and strong and we cant compete against that. Doesn't this mean we buy small forwards that are not strong. Says it all Trent so either our training is aweful look at the conditioners or our talent scouts have no idea how to buy or look for big forwards that are also fast and fit. We really don't have much going for us do we and again I cant stop reiterating that our current hookers are useless. We need to buy a good fast mobile hooker who can also think and organise not just pass the ball to anyone who happens to be close at hand and when it comes to bullet passes Sleeky we can't even catch simple passes let alone bullet ones.
If this rabble of a team can't do it then replace the whole lot of them . Start again because this year it is quite obvious that we shall wear the wooden spoon and there won't be any other challengers the way we are playing.
Just look at our attack when we cant get into the other sides quarter line for a whole 40 mins of football that is unheard of. One thing is for sure we will write new records this year at the dogs for all the wrong reasons.

Unfortunately like most things we seem to have left our run too late to secure anymore worthwhile signings this year. Most good ones have already been picked up and signed up.
Take a look at whom we have actually signed this year so far.
Waddell unimpressive just an average forward plodder. no doubt Manly haven't been missing him.
Kyle Flanagan Despite all the who ha about him he is still indecisive, doesnt attack the line much himself and his positional return kicks are woeful. Easts sure picked up a better one than him.
Nick Cotric probably the best buy but he will burn out as he is the only danger in our backline so gets all the attention.
Jack Hetherington . If he was consistent he could do a lot better but spending too much off the field on suspensions.
Corey Allan . Failed to impress with speed or defence . Souths never even noticed he had gone.
I wont count Luke Thompson because he started last year although he is going to get burnt out being the only go forward forward.
So in reality we bought 5 new faces to the club this year 1 good one touch and go and the other three waste of salary cap.
Small wonder we are going backwards.

And I might add Mr Barrett was responsible in the decision making for most of these players so take a look at yourself in the mirror Trent. I
rest my case.
