Socceroos go down fighting against Argentina

Argentina have progressed through to the quarter-finals after a clinical finish from Lionel Messi. The Socceroos fought back late with a goal from Craig Goodwin, marking a heroic end to an epic campaign that united Australia.

Not a terrible result score wise.. it's a shame to see them get so far and then serve up the winning goal to Argentina on a platter

They came close on a few occasions but hard to see any other result than Argentina progressing. Good result for the Socceroos overall though equaling their best result in the tournament.

Over to the USA/Canada/Mexico for what's sure to be a shit 48 team tournament (groups of 3).

I hate to go all negative but I really think we should be past giving up goals like that, even if it is against one of the tournament favourites... after a decent tournament they will be feeling pretty crappy about that!
