Club Statement: Viliame Kikau

Caitlin Glanville Media & Communications Manager
Wed 12 Apr 2023, 01:04 PM

Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs second-rower Viliame Kikau has suffered a pectoral muscle injury.

He left the training field yesterday with the injury and he received scans today to confirm a full rupture that will require surgery. He will undergo repair surgery on Monday and the Club will work with the relevant medical professionals to manage his injury post operatively.

More updates to follow.

Heard this on the news whilst in the car earlier. Sounds like it'll be a 12 week injury.

First Thompson injured whilst training, then possibly TPJ, and now Kikau.

Might need to reassess how we train as we can't afford to keep doing stuff like this.

He's a MASSIVE out.

Must be a mighty fine line though between not enough and being under done like prior seasons and getting injuries training.

Yeah good point.
Do you go too hard and risk injuries, or too soft and end up puffed out after 30 minutes into a game.

I suspect go hard and dial it back a bit if there are multiple/regular injuries until they subside to infrequent injuries.
