Noosa Pirates junior Blake Wilson has inked a new deal with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, signing on for a further two years and until at least the end of 2025.

The 23-year-old has shown great utility value since making his Club debut, shifting between the winger and fullback positions in NSW Cup prior to receiving a call-up to replace an injured Josh Addo-Carr.

His call-up saw him pull on the No.5 jersey to make his debut in Round 11 of the 2023 NRL Premiership season, before going on to feature in a further ten first-grade games for the Club.

In his rookie year, the talented winger scored six times, including bagging a hat-trick against the Rabbitohs in Round 19, provided four try assists, and managed 47 tackle busts and 11 line breaks, all whilst amassing a running a total of 1436 metres (averaging 130m per game).

With an impressive maiden year behind him, Blake will regroup with the NRL squad in November, hoping to cement his starting position for the year ahead.

His extension further strengthens the Club's outside backs position, with the likes of Josh Addo-Carr, Jacob Kiraz and Stephen Crichton among the new-look Bulldogs side in 2024.

Great!

He seems to know what is required of the modern day winger with his work rate and willingness to take tough carries. We are on the right track.

Thinking about it, if he can address his defensive and game reads, and learn to remain focused on the game at all time, he has potential to be a bloody good winger!
Time will tell if he can step up to the next level, yet for his sake alone, I hope that he does!
