Didn't watch the game (caught up with a few things) but saw the end result.

Was looking at the stats and I'm puzzled how the score ended up blowing out so hard, as we were on top for most positive stats and Storm on top for negative stats.

Heck we even had more possession.

Seems like Paps was fired up... were we shithouse or Melb just absolutely on today?

honestly the Storm weren't even at their best but once they started opening us up they were able to do it at will essentially while our guys as usual looked lost in attack, doing everything in slow motion, spine players dying with the ball etc.. defence definitely wasn't as good as it has been I think Averillo coming in late was a contributing factor but not the only one obviously lol.

I don't look at Storm's efforts today as being up there with Parra's or Penrith's... we looked like our side from last year.

It was a weird one.
Typically professional Melbourne repelled everything we threw at them with ease, and then seemingly scored everytime they had the ball.
I never felt like we were playing shit, but the scoreboard is the kind of thing you see when a team doesn’t turn up.
Attack is a real problem for us. We should’ve been level at 12-12 at half time but instead were behind by 16 and melbourne would’ve felt like they were doing it easy. From there they just rolled over us like a typically ruthless team.

Was just watching NRL 360 and Cooper Cronk and Braith Anasta were talking about our performance (through Paps 4 tries), and about Burton and if he was the answer.

The consensus from both is that we were in it to begin, but Storm were throwing multiple players in defence at Burton, effectively shutting down his ability to play make, and forcing mistakes/limiting his big boot. From there Storm opened us up on the edges, and once we went in and corrected the edge defence, they carved us up straight up the middle.

They reckon that we need to pick Flanno/Wakeham/Averillo and just stick with one of them, because its clear that Burton needs assistance in the halves as he's trying to play both 6 and 7s role at the moment.

When you think about it, it's a shame Blake Green fell through as he'd have been the perfect player alongside Burton in the halves.

Kyle has to come in at this point imo... Burton is in the same position Kyle was in last year now where all the defence will be sent his way.. Either he offers little and is just the same as our other options, or he plays like he did at the Sharks and Roosters, and while he wasn't a stand out at those clubs it's enough to take heat off of Matt. I think Trent needs to pick him and play him for the rest of the season.

If we can try another 9 who has better service that will obviously help too.

the only common denominator is this pathetic coach if he is not gone by the halfway mark when we have yet to score one more try many thousands of supporters are going to walk away from a pathetic club

He has to give Cook a run asap. It's all way too slow from the second JMK gets it

Shhit I'd rather Okunbor in the side than dufty, at least he takes his runs

5 mins into the second half we drop the ball and they go right through the middle to score. This is real worrying

we are a one try team without doubt disgraceful from a coach that boasted attack was his best forte
