That's actually pretty reasonable for the performance bump. Be interesting to see how much stores sell them for though.

In theory that should drop 2080Ti pricing to maybe $500 or below when the 3000s land.

Imagine having the cash to run 2 x RTX 3090s "just because" :D

If you aren't into gaming or the latest graphics, an Elitebook will do you fine. Light, decent performance, well made, and decent warranty.

HP Store have 20% off some models at the moment for Fathers Day sales.

@Howard Moon we've finally found someone that figured out what a tablet is good for!

Facebook PC buy/swap/sell groups are flooded with 2080 Ti's and everyone just laugh reacting them.

I didn't like the HPs all that much when I saw them in person. I think I have narrowed down what I need..

1. Fast as fuck (will end up like tablet if not)
2. Good as fuck screen
3. Not fucking loud
4. Doesn't look or feel like cheap plastic
5. Will last long

Avoid Dell if you don't like noise. I have a Dell laptop and I love it because it runs games great, but it's loud. If it's plugged in and I open a browser, it's like a jet engine. It's funny having Zoom calls where no one can hear you.

For those wondering, @Howard Moon and I hate tablets with a vengeance, because when you are designing websites/interfaces, tablets run their own bullshit resolutions unlike any other device, and make the whol design experience punishing.

The cheaper HPs are pretty plastic crap. Haven't seen the Omen in person, but the Envy, x360 Spectre, and Elitebooks are very well built.

In that case i7 Intel only, with a 144Hz screen.

If you avoid laptops with Nvidia/Radeonafter market video and stick with Intel onboard you won't be able to play games, BUT won't get anywhere near as much heat (and increased battery life).

Did you see any of the ASUS laptops?

Price drop on aisle 3 :D

If it's anything like the Alienware I've had experience with, I feel you there..

I don't mind the ZenBook, I think I prefer the regular laptop over the flip. There's about few different one at similar prices so fucked if I know what's best.

I hope it's not a Dell Alienware tank!

My PS4 feels is absolutely fucked, don't even trust it to play TLOU2 and other recent releases...

I ended up taking my original PS4 apart and cleaned it out. Made it slightly quieter. My Pro is pretty loud too but nowhere near as loud.

But the disc mechanism on my pro is stuffed. It takes about 20 attempts to get it to accept a disc. I'm worried that it's just going to die and not accept discs any more so I'm leaving Ghost of Tsushima in there until I get the PS5. Which is annoying because I want to play through TLOU2 again.

Can't you take it to a repairer?

Anyone remember how loud the Xbox 360 was?

And unreliable. I had 3 of those things. Even the so called elite got the red rings.

My release PS4 died years ago, pro has been noticeably better but the fact I had to buy two consoles of the same gen is a bit disappointing.. hopefully the Ps5 is better.

Anyway I bought a laptop...two actually 😅

Never had an Xbox, but I remember going to my mates place and he got the red ring of death when we were going to play and it was probably one of the worst days in our lives.

Mines been played a little bit and been fine. Brother in law went through 3 of them with the red rings of death.

haha TWO?? What did you end up getting?

Pretty sure they just use a standard slimline slotloading bluray/dvd drive in them (same as laptops). Might be able to replace it if it becomes a real issue.

Or buy a busted laptop with working optical and salvage it that way.

I got the HP Envy x360 and MSI Prestige 15. This Envy looked and felt nicer than the other ones, idk. Prestige isn't for me, sister wanted it for work/uni and is returning the Surface book work gave her.

Next issue is that I haven't used windows since XP, shouldn't be too difficult to navigate my way around I hope :ROFLMAO:

I could get a 3rd party to do it but it'd probably cost me more then a new one. Sony won't do it. I'll probably end up repairing it myself but not until I've finished Ghost of Tsushima in case I screw it up.

I never had the issue. I loved my Xbox 360. Had an original one, replaced the faceplate with a Bulldogs face plate.

Forgot all about the console. Sat in the shed for years. The shed got flooded a few times. Found the 360 a few weeks back all rusted out. Plugged it in, still works.

The PS2 and Xbox 360 are my all time favourite consoles. I've never enjoyed consoles more than those 2.

Ive still got my 360 and PS3 set up in the man cave as well as a PS2. Got the XB1 and PS4 as well as my PC so all I need is the Raspberry Pi and I'm done. Don't intend on getting the new consoles as GTA VI won't be released for another 78 years. I'm sure GTA V will be re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-released on the PS32.

Ahhh nice.. Both good choices either way, but the x360 is pretty well built.

This one? https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/hp-envy-x360-15-ed0013tx-15-6-2-in-1-laptop-256gb

Windows XP > Windows 10, forget everything as its completey changed, but with 10 you can literally type in what you want to load.
