Speaking of PS2/PS3, my copy of Tony Hawk Pro Skater remake should arrive today (apparently today but it's Australia Post so probably next year)

The reviews are saying it's an awesome ode to the originals. This should keep me busy all weekend. I get to relive the days of smashing the Mrs in two player, and her getting so annoyed that no other smashing will be going on.

I never actually played pro skater as I was obsessed with underground. Having watched some gameplay it looks similar to underground so I might pick it up. Looks really good.

Marvel's Avengers game is out today as well. Apparently it's a load of trash. Sounds like it has an interesting story in the singleplayer campaign with repetitive gameplay and crap multiplayer. I played the singleplayer beta and got too bored of it after about 1 hour in the beta so I don't think I'll buy this one.

It's a pity as it's made by the team behind the Tomb Raider 2013 remake which is one of my all time favourite games.

I'll wait to see if my friend who's very fit has it for sale....

If not, I'll get it from steam. Wait, is this the epic games store timed exclusive one?

Ahhh nice.. Both good choices either way, but the x360 is pretty well built.

This one? https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/hp-envy-x360-15-ed0013tx-15-6-2-in-1-laptop-256gb

Windows XP > Windows 10, forget everything as its completey changed, but with 10 you can literally type in what you want to load.
Na slightly different specs and much cheaper, was around 1700 with a 3 year warranty.

10 does seem pretty straight forward, like you said you can just type in what you want.

The nVidia Founder's Edition 3000 series cards are going to be released 3 days early (14th September) but they will not be released in Australia.

The 3rd party cards (EVGA, Gigabyte, etc) will be released on the 17th September but from what I'm hearing from everyone in industry, the cards will be in very limited supply and they will be marked up massively. Expect them to cost an extra $250 - $400 for the first year.

That's absolutely disgusting... to keep sales of 2000 series cards flowing no doubt.

Or might be covid killing manufacturing.

Xbox Series S and Series X are coming out on November 10 with the S going for US$299 and the X going for US$499. In the US they will also have a subscription based model that allows you to buy/rent the console over two years (same as a phone plan) that includes the console and Xbox Ultimate Game Pass/Gold Subscription at US$25 for the S and US$35 for the X

No confirmation on the Australian prices yet and no confirmation if they'll have the subscription service in Australia but considering that subscription has become a big drive for Microsoft, it's likely to come here too.

Also expect the prices to be around $450 - $500 for the S and $700 - $750 for the X

The S will be effectively the same as the Xbox One X but will have the new technology built in so it'll support future games when the One X and others are phased out.

Forgot to mention. The Series S is digital only. No disc drive.
It's pretty cheap, will defenitely tempt a few people to buy one just because. I assume the PS5 digital will cost more than this? Not that I think I'll buy the digital version.

I'm been really annoyed with the way Sony has done business with their last few consoles. The PS2 was backwards compatible with PS1 games. The first release of the PS3 was also backwards compatible with PS2 and PS1 games, and since then, from the second release of the PS3 onwards, it's been all about making players buy the old games they want from the online store. That's not how you take care of loyal customers.
