I have been contemplating this for a year and have probably asked numerous times, but is it worth buying the NVIDIA Shield TV Pro? $365 just seems ridiculous...
PC will be a massive money pit for me, FOMO will kick in and make me believe I need to get every hardware upgrade possible. I am due a Laptop upgrade though and things could get out of control and I could be a couple K deep and better off just getting a PC...also need a new monitor, Ps5, gaming chair (someone else used it and it feels funny now)Can't answer that question but it's DEFINITELY worth investing in a gaming PC. I have mine hooked to the TV and use it literally for everything. Games, foxtel (my mate's account) and I stream all kinds of international sports through the browser. Best thing I've ever bought.

Yh I only like laptops because I can easily use them wherever I want. But I can always just get a tablet for shit like that as it's usually just going though emails, browsing, watching videos..(defenitely not porn).Haha. It's true. While my PC can run practically everything I really want to upgrade it but the missus keeps laying guilt every time I go to do it.
I hate laptops, they're expensive and they don't last for shit.
My neighbour spent seven and a half grand on his gaming laptop...... to play Dota.

Sorry for the shit quality, took it off my phone.
Nice bro, what game is that?View attachment 387

Yh mobiles are good, sometimes I put my penis up against the screen and pretend a little fairy is holding it...Had/have a laptop for that stuff and to download movies that are definitely, absolutely not pornographic at all but phones these days are the size of tablets so I just use that for that kind of stuff.
Nice bro, what game is that?
Speaking of mods, you can get the beta for this now. But I think you have to donate to their patreon or something (turns out patreon isn't only for wannabe porn stars)
Not sure if others have this same situation, but for me the problem is finding the time to put aside for gaming.
Like short, quick games (like hidden object stuff), no worries at all. Or like Scrabble... but I find it difficult to dedicate more time to games (and that's half the reason I have so many I'm yet to finish). Heck I haven't even finished the original Half Life or SWAT4 yet! That gives you an idea how far behind I am.
Every so often though I'll start playing something and get completely engrossed in it though (if its a really good game).
Currently got 4 spare machines that I need to part out and try and build something that I can at least use for my racing simulator (and still need to get the tactile audio sorted on that too).
Probably I'll retire at like 80-90, and spend my last remaining decade gaming 24/7 to catch up LOL.
Yeah that's the thing bro, I've never played GTA 5 so I don't know how it looks like. I just went to EB and they don't have it on PC because they said it would take freaking 8 DVD's to install that bitch, so what's the best way to go about getting it (PM me if you like)?Dude! GTA V. I have modded the absolute shit out of it. Only thing I don't have is a graphics mod. I just haven't found one I like. They're all either overly exaggerated or I can't tell the difference.
You see the thing is as I'm only going to use it for older games, I'm not really thinking about using it for the future. The only game I really can think of playing in the future is the Hitman games which don't seem to be too demanding.Sorry @Wahesh been a bit snowed under last few days (and even today).
Rather than think about how much it costs, think about longevity and cost over years of ownership.
www.jw.com.au, and www.mwave.com.au are the places I normally use for parts (albeit normally I build myself - and I have personally built close to (if not over) 1000 customer computers after well over a decade in IT). Looks like ARC Computers in Silverwater might be gone (they were another good one).
Both JW and Mwave do prebuild Gaming PCs as well. Never heard of TitanTechIT, but there are so many IT companies out there building PCs these days, its impossible to keep up.
Parts availability with Covid could be tricky these days too.
If you have older games you want to be playing, you will probably still need an optical drive, but not all cases allow for them to be installed these days.
Both those links above are using 128GB Hard Drives. That's tiny, and then you are relying on standard mechanical hard drives. Also some of those brands I've never heard of before.
Watercooling - I've never trusted.

If I was building a gaming PC today this is what I'd be focussing on:
- 1 × Mwave Custom PC Assembly and Testing Service SKU# AB47402
- 1 × ASUS BC-12D2HT 12X Blu-Ray Combo Optical Drive SKU# AB84797
(for playing legacy games that are only on optical media)
- 1 × Windows 10 Home 64-bit OEM DVD SKU# AB64973
(no point wasting money on W10 Pro).
- 1 × Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1650 Windforce OC 4GB Video Card SKU# AC23110
(decent video card for modern day games).
- 1 × Corsair RM750x 750W 80 Plus V2 Gold Fully Modular Power Supp... SKU# AC34539
(decent mid range PSU with heatsinks and solid caps in places to resolve any heat issues).
- 1 × Intel 660p 1TB M.2 PCIe NVMe 3.0 x4 3D2 SSD SSDPEKNW010T8X1 SKU# AC16900
(decent 1TB SSD). No additional HDD added as single drives (mechanical or secondary SSD) are a single point of failure anyway.
- 1 × Crucial Ballistix 16GB (2x 8GB) DDR4 2666MHz Memory - Black SKU# AC34229
(16GB of RAM and decent stuff with heat shield).
- 1 × Gigabyte B460M AORUS PRO LGA 1200 Micro-ATX Motherboard SKU# AC35237
(feature backed board with decent cooling for M2, and mosfets, solid caps, decent onboard LAN controller, and large featureset).
- 1 × Intel Core i5 10400F Hexa Core LGA 1200 2.90GHz CPU Processo... SKU# AC34467
(solid processor without built in graphics).
- 1 × be quiet! Pure Base 600 Tempered Glass Mid-Tower ATX Case - ... SKU# AC21272
(well built and solid case, with noise dampening, built in fan speed controller, no RGB crap, and tempered glass window as well as optical drive slot).
$2035 w 2YR RTB Warranty + Manufacturers Warranty on other parts.
Excessive and continually high temperature or parts wearing out is generally was decreases a computers longevity. Resolve those and give yourself a decent platform and you are sweet as.
Quick Q @Hacky McAxe - is this with a regular DVD player or BluRay? I'm thinking of the future... slightly. It would technically work but it's not great. You'll get GTA V running fine at 1080p on medium/high settings without mods. Anything newer may struggle.
Personally with the CPU I wouldn't go under a core i5 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600
Have a look at something like this:
https://www.titantechit.com/product-page/orpheus-ryzen-5-2600-580-8gb
- Motherboard: Asrock A320M mATX with heat sync.
- CPU: Ryzen 5 2600 6 cores 12 threads @ 3.4ghz
- GPU: AMD RX 580 8GB Dual fan. Black and red edition.
- RAM: 3200mhz 16gb (2x8gb) C17
- SSD: 128gb M.2
- HDD: 1TB
- Tower: Thermaltake S100 white with 1x Pre installed rear fan and tempered glass side.
- PSU: Full 700w with PCIE

Yep, believe it or not, never played it. I thought that I'd wait to get a better rig so it performs well as well as wait for the price to come down. So it looks like that time is upon us. What extras to the 2 DLC's include?Wh.... What?! You've never played GTA 5?! What do those words mean?!
Best way to get it for PC is via steam. It goes for 50 bucks but it's always on sale for 23 bucks. It's a shame because the Chinese spy store AKA Epic Games Store recently gave it away for free.
I'd wait for a steam sale. When I bought them on steam I bought 7 GTA games for 50 bucks. GTA V, GTA IV plus the 2 DLCs aswell as GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas.
