I think he means the type of wood that burns slow so it last longer lol. I just used sticks/twigs on top of the heatbeads and then spread them over so the coal then heats up.

Also, being an Arabs, I never refer to them as heatbeads as I'm so used to calling them fah'm.

I use it for fast cooks i.e steaks, pizza etc.

For my low and slow, I use the KJ Big Block charcoal.

Heatbeads is the brand name. They’re not your traditional charcoal briquettes, it’s actual lumps of charcoaled hardwood.

I suppose it’ll tast a little different because they use a special timber?
I’ve used a lot of different types and they all basically taste the same to me. So long as your using hardwood lump.
Rules are, Any proper hardwood lump charcoal is going to shit on briquettes and any briquette is going to shit on gas, but gas is better than no BBQ at all.

Apparently you can re use it a few times, you walk around Tokyo early in the morn and they are all out front banging and cleaning it back up , I'll give it a go I thinks
